Mental Health and Wellbeing

At Aston Fields Middle School, it is important to us that all members of our school community are healthy both physically and mentally. We recognise the responsibility we have for the physical development and the wellbeing of our children. Mental and physical health depends upon meeting emotional needs in healthy ways. This keeps stress levels low and allows our immune system to fight back and work to promote recovery from illness. At Aston Fields Middle School, there is plenty of support to help you and your child with wellbeing. If you have any worries about your child's wellbeing, please contact your child's form teacher who will be happy to support. We also have a team of staff who can offer further targeted support through small group work, individual mentoring sessions and supporting you to appropriate help if needed. Meeting children’s emotional needs can be challenging, but there is lots of support available for both children and their families to access at home. Here are some suggestions to allow parents/carers to meet children’s emotional and wellbeing needs.  We hope that you will find these useful.
