Remote Learning during National Lockdown

Following the Prime Minister's announcement on Monday 4th January, school is closed except to the children of critical workers and vulnerable pupils. Lessons have therefore moved online for the majority of our pupils. Below are further details of our online provision and what your children can expect.

Pupils should ensure they log on to their Google Classrooms at the start of each lesson, using a smart phone, tablet or computer. Registers will be taken and work set which will need to be submitted. An email with the timings of lessons has been sent to help parents/carers and pupils plan their days. Teachers will set work and wherever possible be available during the lesson to provide teaching, support and feedback. Please note however, that teachers will also be required to teach pupils in the critical worker bubbles in school and therefore for some lessons, work will be set and the teacher will review it after the lesson, completing the register from the work submitted.
If pupils are unable to attend live due to the sharing of technology with siblings or parents/carers who are working, they should complete the work when they can, let their teachers know when they have completed the tasks and submit work as soon as possible. If pupils do not have access to any suitable device, please contact the school as soon as possible, for us to see if we can provide support.
Although we are not using Teams or Zoom, Google Classroom has the facility to arrange meetings too, and pupils may sometimes be invited to join in a discussion or small group help where appropriate. In these cases, parents/carers are asked to ensure pupils use their own names and not nicknames and keep their cameras switched off for safeguarding reasons.
Mrs Hales, Head of School/Acting Headteacher is the person responsible for remote learning. Please contact her if you would like further information. Below is more guidance on some of the software used and a link to our help guides for technical support.

Office 365

As part of our Microsoft licensing agreement, all pupils have access to an Office 365 account. This provides access to Office 365 online, with the option to install Office on up to 5 devices.

Pupils can log onto in the same way that they access Google by signing in with their usual user ID and password, adding the: to the end of their user ID.
