Accessing Online Resources FAQ

To help pupils and parents through the school closure, please see below a list of frequently asked questions about accessing online resources.

FAQ:

How do I log onto Google Classroom?
Go to: https://classroom.google.com/

To sign in, type your full username ID which is: <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Then type in your usual password.

How do I join a class?
Click on the blue ‘join’ button on each of the classroom cards. Your teacher should have added you to the classes you need, so they should be showing for you.

Do I need a code to join a class?
If you have a code to join a class, go to https://classroom.google.com/ and click the + sign on the top right of the page. Enter the code when prompted.

What do I do if I don’t have a code and I don’t see a class I need?

What do I do if I’ve forgotten/don’t know my login details to the other websites we use?
You can either message your teacher in the relevant Google Classroom or email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Do I have an Office365 account?
Yes. Go to: office.com
Sign in with the same username and password that you use to sign-in to Google.

Accessing Google Classroom

As we move to an online learning environment, the following information may be useful to parents/carers and pupils on how pupils can access Google Classroom. The majority of pupils will have been accessing Google Classroom in their Computing lessons so will know what to do.

As we are a 'Google school', it is beneficial if pupils have access to the Chrome web browser, which can be downloaded for all platforms here.

All of our Google Classrooms can be accessed at this website address: https://classroom.google.com/

Pupils will need to sign-in using their usual Google account username and password. Usernames will need to have the: @astonfields.worcs.sch.uk  at the end of it. These instructions can also be found on our Computing page.

Once in the Google Classroom area, if a pupil was given a code, they need to click on the plus sign on the top right to join a class. Most pupils will already have been added to classrooms. They will see the classes available to them and only need to click on the 'join' box for each class to access work. Google have an instruction page on joining a class which may be useful.

If your child thinks they have a class missing or if they do not have a code for the class, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your child's name and registration group. This email address will be active for school-related pupil IT support for the duration of the school closure.
