Success in ‘The Greenest Town Possible’ competition

Two teams from Year 8 represented our school in the final of ‘The Greenest Town Possible’ competition on Wednesday 4th May at Faun Zoeller in Redditch. The event was organised and sponsored by Inspiring Worcestershire.

Participating school teams had to design a new town - ‘The Greenest Town Possible’, based on future, sustainable technologies.

Pupils have spent months researching ideas for their presentations, including constructing a 3D model of their town.

AFMS team members shared their models with a panel of judges from Worcester Bocsh and ExCool, they then took to the stage to deliver their presentations.

Congratulations to our winning team, the ‘D.O.C featuring Josh’ – Dylan, Owen, Carter and Josh. The judges were unanimous in their decision, praising an exceptionally well-researched piece of work.

Runners up – ‘The famous five’ – Kacey, Elizabeth, Kate, Ellie and Toni. The girls were praised for their teamwork and confident delivery.

We are very proud of the success of our pupils – well done!

Each half-term, the Directors of Year Groups and their staff identify one boy and one girl from their year group to be invited to have tea and biscuits with Mr Cox, Headteacher. This is in recognition of their outstanding contribution to school life and the positive character attributes they have shown during the half-term. The pupils who enjoyed this special privilege on Monday 4th April 2022 were: Year 5 – Flora and Will, Year 6 – Lara and Murray, Year 7 – Daniel and Katie and Year 8 – Emily and Matthew.
