Tea and Biscuits with the Headteacher

At the end of every half-term, the Directors of Year Groups and their staff identify one boy and one girl from their year group to be invited to have tea and biscuits with Mr Cox, Headteacher. This is in recognition of their outstanding contribution to school life during the half-term. The pupils who enjoyed this special privilege on Friday 13th December 2019 were: Year 5 – Kya and Jensen, Year 6 – Libby and Rhys, Year 7 –Isabelle and Samuel and Year 8 – Bethan and George.
Well done to them all! Keep watching this space to discover who will be invited to tea with Mr Cox next half-term!

Inspired through Sport Fundraiser

In October 2019, Aston Fields Middle School received a visit from Sophie Cook, an International pole vaulter. Sophie is currently the British athletics Pole Vault silver medallist with a personal best of 4.40m. She has competed for Great Britain at the European Team Championships in 2019 and the Athletics World Cup 2018 at the London Olympic Stadium.

Sophie led pupils through a series of activities related to her training and answered pupils’ questions about her life as an athlete.

We are pleased to advise you that this sponsored event raised a total of £1,265 which is split between our school (to purchase sports equipment) and the Inspired through Sport organisation (to help budding athletes achieve their athletic goals).

Thank you very much for your support.

Operation Encompass

Our school has been given the opportunity to take part in a national project, which is being run locally in partnership with Worcestershire County Council and West Mercia Police. Operation Encompass is a process whereby the police and county council will inform a member of staff if a child has experienced any domestic incident. This will be done prior to the start of the next school day. Information sharing between professional agencies allows school staff to provide emotional and practical support to pupils experiencing domestic abuse.
